Paint Your Plate

Where you become the Artist!

What to Expect

If you haven't been to Paint Your Plate or any other ceramics studio in the past, it can be a little intimidating to come in and not know what you're doing. Here are a few things you can expect when you come to a Paint Your Plate location:

  •  What is on the table?
    • A bowl of water
    • A sponge for cleaning or erasing
    • A placemat for painting on
    • A tile for use as your paint palette
  • What products do you carry?
    • The products that we stock vary by location. We do not have an online catalog for browsing, but we welcome anyone to come in and browse our selection at either of our locations, as our products change regularly, including seasonal inventory for holidays!
    • Products that we commonly stock are:
      • Mugs of all shapes and sizes
      • Round Rim and Coupe Plates of varying sizes
      • Tiles
      • Various Figurines
  • What paints do you use?
    • The paints that we use vary by location.
    • As a reminder, the paint that you use on our bisque (or products) will look very different between when you finish painting and after we glaze and fire the product. We ask that you utilize the guides that are located near our paint stations to choose the colors that you would like to use.
  • Other questions:
    • Can we paint on the bottom?
      • Of course! All of our products are stilted in the kiln which makes it safe for you to paint all over the product, including the bottom.
    • When can I have my product?
      • It always depends on the time of year and how busy our studio is, but as a general rule, it takes between 5 to 7 days for us to dry, glaze, fire, and package your item for pick-up.
  • If you have any other questions that our website hasn't answered, feel free to give us a call at either location:
